Wajib Kifaa’i

A Divine obligation that requires a sufficient number of people to complete, but for which an entire Muslim community is liable for. For example, if a Muslim dies, then it is the responsibility of the community to produce a sufficient number of people who will wash and bury the body. Thus, not every person is required to participate, so long as some people are completing the obligation. If, however, nobody buries the body, the sin falls upon every member of the community.
