A recorded saying or doing of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS). This includes any events or incidents which may have happened during his life. The science of determining the authenticity of a hadith is known as “hadith science.” A hadith’s reliability may be rated as anywhere from weak to strong, or as completely fabricated.
